System Operation

System Diagram

The TCM (Transmission Control Module) and its input/output network controls the following operations:
- Shift timing
- Line pressure (shift feel)

This transmission is controlled by a standalone TCM (Transmission Control Module). This transmission is controlled by 7 solenoids, SSA (Shift Solenoid A), SSB (Shift Solenoid B), SSC (Shift Solenoid C), SSD (Shift Solenoid D), SSE (Shift Solenoid E), LPC (Line Pressure Control) solenoid and the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid. To control the transmission, the TCM (Transmission Control Module) uses inputs from the TFT (Transmission Fluid Temperature) sensor, TR (Transmission Range) sensor, TSS (Turbine Shaft Speed) sensor and the OSS (Output Shaft Speed) sensor. The TCM (Transmission Control Module) also uses engine inputs from the HS-CAN (High Speed Controller Area Network) signal for gear and TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) scheduling and control.
