Lower Arm
Removal
1. NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
Remove the wheel and tire. REFER to Wheel and Tire.
2. NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the ball joint stud from turning while removing the lower ball joint nut.
Using a crowfoot wrench, remove and discard the lower ball joint nut.
3. NOTICE: Use care when releasing the lower arm and knuckle into the resting position or damage to the ball joint seal may occur.
Push the lower arm downward until the lower ball joint stud is clear of the wheel knuckle.
4. Remove and discard the lower arm forward bolt.
5. Remove and discard the 2 lower arm rearward nuts and bolts.
6. If necessary, remove the lower arm rearward bushing. REFER to Lower Arm Bushing .
Installation

If necessary, install the lower arm rearward bushing. REFER to Lower Arm Bushing .
2. NOTICE: Tighten the lower arm forward bolt with the weight of the vehicle on the wheels and tires or damage to the bushings may occur.
NOTE: Install the new lower arm rearward bolts from the bottom of the lower arm bushing with the nuts on top.
Install the 2 new lower arm rearward nuts and bolts.
- Tighten to 99 Nm (73 lb-ft).
3. Install the new lower arm forward bolt.
- Tighten to 265 Nm (195 lb-ft).
4. Insert the lower ball joint stud into the wheel knuckle and install the new lower ball joint nut.
- Tighten to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).
5. Install the wheel and tire. REFER to Wheel and Tire.
