Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensor (KS) - 2.0L GTDI

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. Remove the intake manifold. REFER to Intake Manifold .

2. NOTICE: The RH (Right Hand) KS (Knock Sensor) must be installed in the 6 o'clock position and the LH (Left Hand) KS (Knock Sensor) must be installed in the 3 o'clock position. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the engine.

Disconnect the 2 KS (Knock Sensor) electrical connectors and remove the 2 bolts and the 2 KS (Knock Sensor).
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).





Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
