Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve - 2.0L GTDI

Removal
WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an EVAP (Evaporative Emission) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
1. Detach the hose retainer and disconnect the 2 vapor tube quick connect couplings. REFER to Disconnect - Type 1 or REFER to Disconnect - Type 2 or REFER to Disconnect - Type 5 .
2. Detach the hose retainer and disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to Disconnect - Type 1 or REFER to Disconnect - Type 2 or REFER to Disconnect - Type 5 .
3. Disconnect the purge valve electrical connector and the vapor quick connect coupling and remove fastener. REFER to Disconnect - Type 1 or REFER to Disconnect - Type 2 or REFER to Disconnect - Type 5 .
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
4. Remove the canister purge valve assembly.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
