2.0L GTDI - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

2012-2013 Edge, Explorer
ISSUE
Some 2012-2013 Edge and Explorer vehicles equipped with the 2.0L Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) engine may exhibit DTC P1015 or P1016.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Inspect all hoses routed to the Turbocharger Wastegate Regulating Valve Solenoid. Are any hoses disconnected or damaged? (Figure 1)
a. Yes - This article does not apply. Repair connections and/or hoses, as necessary.
b. No - Proceed to Step 2.
2. Replace the Turbocharger Wastegate Regulating Valve Solenoid. Torque the two 8 mm retaining bolts to 10 N.m (90 lb-in). (Figure 1B)
3. If equipped, remove the shield covering the filter and discard. (Figure 1A)
