4. NOTE: The PMI (Programmable Module Installation) process does not include the IA (Intelligent Access) key programming into the new RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module. After the PMI (Programmable Module Installation) process has been completed, the IA (Intelligent Access) keys need to be programmed into the new RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module during ignition off. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment. After the IA (Intelligent Access) keys have been programmed into the new RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module, the ignition must be turned to the ON mode in order to reset the parameters. REFER to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset Programming and Relearning.

5. It may be necessary to configure the factory set 5-digit permanent entry code from the BCM (Body Control Module) into the new RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module. A new RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module does not come equipped with a factory set 5-digit permanent entry code and the entry code from the BCM (Body Control Module) must be configured into the new RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module in order for the entry codes in both the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module and the BCM (Body Control Module) to match. If the entry codes do not match (or the entry code in the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module is missing), the keyless entry keypad may not operate correctly.
