ISSUE
Some 2012 Edge, MKX and Explorer vehicles built 10/30/2011 through 12/31/2011, equipped with optional clusters and MyFord Touch or MyLincoln Touch, may exhibit multifunction and infotainment display screens simultaneously going blank, scrambled images, flickering displays. These conditions will occur on both screens at the same time.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. An optional cluster can be identified by a speedometer in the center with a left hand message center and right hand multimedia displays.
2. Reprogram the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) module to the latest calibration using IDS release 77A.05 or higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.1A DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
