Parking Brake Cable - LH Rear
Removal
1. Release the parking brake cable tension. REFER to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .
2. Disconnect the conduit equalizer from the RH (Right Hand) cable at the equalizer.
3. Remove the 2 wireform bracket bolts and separate the LH (Left Hand) cable and bracket from the RH (Right Hand) cable.
4. Remove the LH (Left Hand) wheel well bracket bolt.
5. Release the parking brake cable from the brake caliper and remove the cable.
Installation
1. Install the LH (Left Hand) wheel well bracket bolt.
- Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft)
2. Connect the LH (Left Hand) parking brake cable to the brake caliper.
3. Connect the LH (Left Hand) cable and bracket to the RH cable.
4. Install the wireform bracket bolt to body.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in)
5. Install the wireform bracket bolt to the subframe.
6. Connect the conduit equalizer to the RH (Right Hand) cable at the equalizer.
7. NOTE: Make sure that the cable-to-cable union is connected to the front and rear cable before removing the brake control retaining pin and that the cable tension is reloaded slowly.
Remove the parking brake control retaining pin.
8. Inspect the parking brake system for correct operation.
