Seat Backrest Thermo-Electric Device (TED)

Removal

NOTE: For parts identification and location, REFER to Seat - Exploded View, Front .

1. Remove the seat backrest. REFER to Seat Backrest .

2. NOTE: Note wire harness routing for installation.
Disengage the backrest cover lower J-clips and route the wire harnesses through the backrest cover holes.





3. On each side of the backrest, separate the backrest cover hook-and-loop strips.

4. NOTICE: Use care when separating the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the backrest foam pad.

Separate the backrest cover hook-and-loop strips from the backrest foam pad and position the backrest cover up to the first row of hog rings.

5. Remove the first row of hog rings.





6. Position the backrest cover up to the second row of hog rings and remove the hog rings.





7. From the rear of the backrest, disengage the backrest cover J-clip attached to the backrest frame wire.





8. Position the backrest cover upward enough to access the backrest TED (Thermo-Electric Device) upper retainers.

9. Remove the backrest TED (Thermo-Electric Device).

1. Disconnect the electrical connector and separate the pin-type retainer.

2. Disengage the TED (Thermo-Electric Device) from the backrest frame wire.

3. Disengage the backrest TED (Thermo-Electric Device) from the backrest foam pad wire.

4. Slide the TED (Thermo-Electric Device) out from between the power lumbar and cable.






Installation

1. Install the backrest TED (Thermo-Electric Device).

1. Position the TED (Thermo-Electric Device) through the power lumbar cable.

2. Attach the TED (Thermo-Electric Device) to the backrest foam pad wire.

3. Engage the TED (Thermo-Electric Device) upper retainers to the backrest frame wire.

4. Connect the electrical connector and attach the pin-type retainer.

2. Position the backrest cover downward, attach the hook-and-loop strips and engage the J-clip at the rear to the backrest frame wire.

3. Position the backrest cover downward, attach the hook-and-loop strips and install the 3 second row hog rings.

4. Position the backrest cover downward, attach the hook-and-loop strips and install the 3 first row hog rings.

5. Position the backrest cover downward and attach the hook-and-loop strips.

6. Route the wire harnesses through the backrest cover holes and engage the lower J-clips.

7. On each side of the seat backrest, attach the hook-and-loop strips.

8. Install the seat backrest. REFER to Seat - Exploded View, Front .
