Roof Opening Panel Frame




Roof Opening Panel Frame

Removal

NOTE: The roof opening panel motor(s) must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including whenever:
- the roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle.
- a new roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel glass has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.

REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Sliding Glass Panel Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Sliding Glass Panel and REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade.

1. If replacing the roof opening panel frame, remove the air deflector. REFER to Air Deflector .

2. Remove the front sliding glass roof opening panel. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Glass - Front Sliding .

3. Depower the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). REFER to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering - with Intelligent Access (IA) or REFER to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering - without Intelligent Access (IA) .

4. Remove the headliner. REFER to Headliner .

5. Lift the locking wedge and disconnect both Safety Canopy(R) module electrical connectors.





6. Disconnect the 4 roof opening panel drain hoses from the corners of the roof opening panel frame.

7. Position both Safety Canopy(R) modules aside.

1. Disconnect the Safety Canopy(R) module push pins from the roof opening panel frame brackets.

2. Remove the Safety Canopy(R) module bolt on the roof opening panel frame bracket and the Safety Canopy(R) module bolt located to the left of the bracket on the RH (Right Hand) side of vehicle and to the right on the LH (Left Hand) side of vehicle and position the Safety Canopy(R) modules aside.

8. Remove the 6 roof opening panel frame bracket bolts and the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) brackets.

9. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the roof opening panel frame, with the aid of an assistant, be sure to support the roof opening panel frame when removing the roof opening panel frame bolts.

With the aid of an assistant, remove the 14 roof opening panel frame bolts and lower and remove the roof opening panel frame through the liftgate.

Installation

NOTE: The roof opening panel motor(s) must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including whenever:
- the roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle.
- a new roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel glass has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.

REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Sliding Glass Panel Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Sliding Glass Panel and REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade.

1. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the roof opening panel frame, with the aid of an assistant, be sure to support the roof opening panel frame when installing the roof opening panel frame bolts.

NOTE: If installing a new roof opening panel frame, transfer parts as necessary.
With the aid of an assistant, install the roof opening panel frame through the liftgate and install the 14 roof opening panel frame bolts.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

2. Install the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) roof opening panel frame brackets and install the 6 bracket bolts.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

3. Position both Safety Canopy(R) modules back.

1. Position back both Safety Canopy(R) modules and install Safety Canopy(R) bolt on the roof opening panel frame bracket and the Safety Canopy(R) module bolt located to the left of the bracket on the RH (Right Hand) side of vehicle and to the right of the bracket on the LH (Left Hand) side of vehicle.
- Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

2. Connect the Safety Canopy(R) module push pins to the roof opening panel frame brackets.

4. Install the front sliding glass roof opening panel. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Glass - Front Sliding .

5. Check for correct alignment of the front sliding glass panel and the rear fixed glass panel. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Alignment - Front and REFER to Roof Opening Panel Alignment - Rear .

6. Connect both Safety Canopy(R) module electrical connectors and press the locking wedges down on the electrical connectors.





7. Connect the 4 roof opening panel drain hoses to the corners of the roof opening panel frame.

8. Install the headliner. REFER to Headliner .

9. Repower the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). REFER to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering - with Intelligent Access (IA) or REFER to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering - without Intelligent Access (IA) .

10. If the roof opening panel was replaced, install the air deflector. REFER to Air Deflector .

11. Initialize the front sliding glass and the power shade motors. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Sliding Glass Panel Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Sliding Glass Panel and REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade.
