Quarter Trim Panel - With Inflatable Safety Belts

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. Position aside the liftgate weatherstrip.

2. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel before installing.

Remove the liftgate scuff plate trim panel.

1. Pull upward to release the retaining clips.

2. If equipped, disconnect the rear passive start antenna electrical connector and remove the liftgate scuff plate trim panel.






3. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the scuff plate trim panel before installing.

Remove the rear door scuff plate trim panel. REFER to Scuff Plate Trim Panel .

4. Remove the quarter trim panel push pin retainer.





5. Position the second row seat in the flat position and then tilt the second row seat forward.

6. Push the lower safety belt tongue cover to one side, lift and disengage that side of the lower safety belt tongue cover.





7. Disassemble the lap belt from the safety belt tongue.

1. Push down on the lap belt and spring clip.

2. Remove the pin.

3. Pull the lap belt out of the lower safety belt tongue cover.






8. Position the third row seat in the flat position.

9. Remove the 2 quarter trim panel tie down hooks.





10. Remove the third row safety belt anchor bolt cover on the quarter trim panel.

11. Remove the third row safety belt anchor bolt.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

12. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the quarter trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the quarter trim panel before installing.

Pull the quarter trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to release the quarter trim panel clips and disconnect electrical connectors and remove the quarter trim panel.

- Feed the 2nd row outboard inflatable lap belt through the quarter trim panel during removal.

Installation

1. Transfer parts as necessary.

2. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the quarter trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the quarter trim panel before installing.

Connect the quarter trim panel electrical connectors and install the quarter trim panel and connect the trim panel clips.

- Feed the 2nd row outboard lap belt through the front lower corner of the quarter trim panel.

3. Install the third row safety belt anchor bolt.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

4. Install the third row safety belt anchor bolt cover on the quarter trim panel.

5. Install the 2 quarter trim panel tie down hooks.





6. Position the third row seat back to the normal position.

7. NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
Prepare the lap safety belt for assembly.

1. Position the lower safety belt tongue cover onto the safety belt.

2. Position the bushing into the safety belt web loop.

3. The secondary safety belt web loop must be positioned down.






8. Assemble the lap belt to the safety belt tongue.

1. Position the safety belt web loop and bushing to the safety belt tongue and push down on the lap belt and spring clip.

2. Insert the pin.

3. Make sure the pin is pushed all the way in and the spring clip is allowed to ride up on the shoulder of the pin.






9. NOTE: If the pin is not pushed all the way in the lower safety belt tongue cover will not close correctly.
Push the lower safety belt tongue cover to each side and engage the retainers.





10. Position the second row seat back to the normal position.

11. Install the quarter trim panel push pin retainer.





12. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the scuff plate trim panel before installing.

Install the rear door scuff plate trim panel. REFER to Scuff Plate Trim Panel .

13. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the levitate scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the levitate scuff plate trim panel before installing.

Install the levitate scuff plate trim panel.

1. If equipped, connect the rear passive start antenna electrical connector and install the levitate scuff plate trim panel.

2. Push downward to engage the retaining clips.






14. Position back the liftgate weather-strip.
