Removal

1. Remove the front floor console. REFER to Console - Front, Floor .

2. Remove the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) scuff plate trim panels. REFER to Scuff Plate Trim Panel .

3. Position aside the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) door weather strips.

4. Remove the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) A-pillar trim panels. REFER to A-Pillar Trim Panel .

5. NOTE: LH (Left Hand) side shown, RH (Right Hand) side similar.

Remove the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) instrument panel side trim panels.





6. NOTE: LH (Left Hand) side shown, RH (Right Hand) side similar.

Remove the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) cowl side trim covers.





7. Remove the lower LH (Left Hand) instrument panel trim panel.

- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.






8. Remove the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster). REFER to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .

9. Unclip the in-car temperature sensor harness from the instrument panel upper section.





10. Remove the GPSM (Global Positioning System Module). REFER to Global Positioning System Module (GPSM) .

11. Remove the steering column. REFER to Steering Column .

12. Remove the hood release handle bolt and remove the hood release handle.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).





13. Remove the glove compartment door. REFER to Glove Compartment .

14. Remove the glove compartment trim panel.





15. Disconnect the glove compartment electrical connector.





16. Remove the 8 screws and remove the glove compartment close out.
- To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).





17. NOTE: Apply threadlock to the passenger side air bag to in-vehicle cross beam bolts prior to installation.

Remove the 2 passenger side air bag to in-vehicle cross beam bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).





18. NOTE: LH (Left Hand) side shown RH (Right Hand) similar.

Disconnect the RH (Right Hand) and LH (Left Hand) passengers side air bag electrical connectors.





19. Remove the ACM (Audio Control Module). REFER to Audio Control Module (ACM) . Remove the FDIM (Front Display Interface Module). REFER to Front Display Interface Module (FDIM) . If equipped, remove the instrument panel speaker. REFER to Speaker - Instrument Panel .

20. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector or the push button start switch electrical connector.





21. If equipped, remove the instrument panel speaker and grille as an assembly.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

22. Remove the defroster grille.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.






23. Remove the 10 instrument panel upper section screws.
- To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).





24. Gently pull the RH (Right Hand) side of the instrument panel upper section rearward and detach the defroster grille electrical harness push pin from the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) duct.





25. NOTICE: To avoid damaging the upper section, the aid of an assistant is required to carry out this step.

NOTICE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the upper section or damage to the components may occur.

Remove the instrument panel upper section.

Installation

1. NOTICE: To avoid damaging the instrument panel, the aid of an assistant is required when positioning the in-vehicle cross beam to the vehicle.

NOTICE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are correctly routed when installing the in-vehicle cross beam or damage to the components may occur.

NOTICE: Make sure not to damage the RH front door trim panel when installing the in-vehicle cross beam into the vehicle.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
