Power Liftgate Motor

Removal
NOTE: Power liftgate motor shown. RH (Right Hand) side support does not use the electrical connector.
1. Remove the LH (Left Hand) D-pillar trim panel. REFER to D-Pillar Trim Panel .
2. Position aside the LH (Left Hand) rear portion of the headliner.
3. Disconnect the power liftgate motor electrical connector.
4. Release the wiring harness boot at the body side and route the wiring out of the body opening.
5. NOTICE: Single liftgate supports are not capable of supporting the liftgate alone. Disconnecting an individual support without proper support will allow the liftgate to fall in to a closed position.
Manually support the liftgate in an open position.
6. NOTE: Body side connection shown. Liftgate end similar.
Remove the power liftgate support.
- Release the retaining clip and remove the support from the ball pivot.
- Repeat at opposite end.
Installation
NOTE: LH (Left Hand) power liftgate shown. RH (Right Hand) does not use an electrical connector. RH (Right Hand) side does not require initialization or liftgate opening height adjustments.
1. Install the retaining clips on the liftgate support ends.
2. NOTE: LH (Left Hand) body side shown, all others similar.
Install the liftgate support.
- Position the support on the ball pivot.
- Press until snapped in position.
- Repeat at opposite end.
3. Route the power liftgate motor wiring harness through the body opening and install the boot.
4. Connect the power liftgate electrical connector.
5. Install the LH (Left Hand) D-pillar trim panel. REFER to D-Pillar Trim Panel .
6. Initialize the power liftgate motor. REFER to Power Liftgate Initialization Power Liftgate Initialization.
7. Adjust the liftgate opening height. REFER to Program Power Liftgate Open Height .
