Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 109 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Pinpoint Test

1. RECHECK THE LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, perform the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) self-test.

3. Using a scan tool, clear the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

4. Wait 10 seconds.

5. Repeat the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1318 still present?

2. CHECK FOR CHARGING SYSTEM DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) IN THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module)

1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) KOEO (Key ON Engine OFF) self-test.

Are any charging system DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) set in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)?

3. CHECK THE BATTERY CONDITION AND STATE OF CHARGE

1. Check the battery condition and verify the battery is fully charged. REFER to Diagnostic Routine A: Battery Condition Test Pinpoint Tests.

Is the battery OK and fully charged?

4. CHECK THE LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) VOLTAGE (VBAT_#1) AND (VBAT_#2) PIDs (Parameter Identifications)

1. Ignition ON.

2. Measure and record the voltage at the battery.

3. Using a scan tool, view LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) PIDs (Parameter Identifications).

4. Monitor the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) voltage PIDs (Parameter Identifications) (VBAT_#1) and (VBAT_#2).

Are the PID (Parameter Identification) voltages within 0.2 volt of the recorded battery voltage?

5. CHECK THE LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) VOLTAGE SUPPLY

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) C4174A.

3. Measure:

Are the voltages within 0.2 volt of the recorded battery voltage?

6. CHECK THE LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) GROUND CIRCUIT

1. Measure:

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

7. CHECK FOR CORRECT LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect and inspect all LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) connectors.

3. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

4. Reconnect all the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
