Diagnostic Routine M
Diagnostic Overview
B2935
Normal Operations and Fault Conditions
During an LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) self-test, the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) monitors the time it takes for the power liftgate to open and close. Any mechanical binding of the liftgate or components can cause DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B2935 to set.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Liftgate alignment
- Liftgate hinges
- Liftgate striker alignment
Pinpoint Test
1. RETRIEVE THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module)
1. Using a scan tool, perform the LTM (Liftgate/Trunk Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B2935 the only DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) present?
2. CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE LIFTGATE
1. Ignition ON.
2. Turn the power liftgate off (disable) from the message center.
3. NOTE: A small amount of interference during a manual operation will be amplified during a power operation and may cause the liftgate to not power open.
Manually unlatch the liftgate.
Does the liftgate unlatch correctly?
3. CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE LIFTGATE
1. While manually opening and closing the liftgate, check the liftgate for:
- liftgate/wedge alignment
- strut operation (struts should push liftgate open when beyond half open)
- power liftgate rod (should move freely while manually opening and closing liftgate and be securely mounted to the liftgate and bracket)
- hinges (should move freely)
Does the liftgate open and close correctly without any binding?
