Removal
1. NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.
NOTE: If installing a new BCM (Body Control Module), all vehicle keys are erased during the parameter reset procedure. Verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.
Upload the module configuration information from the BCM (Body Control Module) into the scan tool by following the scan tool on screen instructions.
2. Remove the BCM (Body Control Module).
1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
2. Release the locking tab.
3. Move the BCM (Body Control Module) toward the rear of the vehicle.
Installation
NOTE: Steps 2 ,3, 4, 5 and 6 only need to be performed if a new BCM (Body Control Module) has been installed.
1. Install the BCM (Body Control Module) and connect the electrical connectors.
2. Download the BCM (Body Control Module) configuration information from the scan tool to the new BCM (Body Control Module) by following the scan tool on screen instructions.
3. NOTE: If a new BCM (Body Control Module) is installed, the BCM (Body Control Module) and the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) require a parameter reset to allow the BCM (Body Control Module) , PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module to recognize each other.
If installing a new BCM (Body Control Module), carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedure. REFER to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset.
4. Carry out the keyless entry keypad code programming procedure. REFER to Remote Function Actuator (RFA) Module Keyless Entry Keypad Code Reset Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - with Intelligent Access (IA).
5. Train the tire pressure sensors. REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Training - Intelligent Access (IA) Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Training - Intelligent Access (IA).
6. Carry out the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test (must include an on-demand self-test) and then repeat the self-test to confirm all DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) have been cleared.
