Diagnostic Routine AH

Diagnostic Overview

The SIRIUS(R) Data Services Are Not Available

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to SIRIUS(R) Data Services .

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK FOR SATELLITE AUDIO CONCERNS

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, perform the ACM (Audio Control Module) self-test.

3. Operate the infotainment system in satellite audio mode.

Are any ACM (Audio Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) or satellite audio concerns present?








2. VERIFY AN ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTION

1. Operate the audio system in SIRIUS(R) data services mode and observe the infotainment display.

Does the display indicate the subscription has expired?








3. CHECK THE SATELLITE DATA CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: ACM (Audio Control Module) C240B.

3. Disconnect: APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module).

4. Ignition ON.

5. Measure:





Is any voltage present?








4. CHECK THE SATELLITE DATA CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Measure:





Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?








5. CHECK THE SATELLITE DATA CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Measure:





Are the resistance less than 3 ohms?








6. CHECK FOR CORRECT ACM (Audio Control Module) OPERATION

1. Disconnect and inspect all ACM (Audio Control Module) connectors.

2. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the ACM (Audio Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
