Diagnostic Routine H

Diagnostic Overview

There is an "Active Park Assist Fault" message in the Centerstack Infotainment Display

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 131 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Active Park Assist System .

Pinpoint Test

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

1. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PAM (Parking Aid Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the PAM (Parking Aid Module) self-test.

Are any PAM (Parking Aid Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








2. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) self-test.

Are any PSCM (Power Steering Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








3. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE SCCM (Steering Column Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the SCCM (Steering Column Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) self-test.

Are any SCCM (Steering Column Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








4. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) MODULE SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.

Are any ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








5. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) self-test.

Are any PCM (Powertrain Control Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








6. CHECK THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.

Are any IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








7. CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (Parking Aid Module) OPERATION

1. Disconnect and inspect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector.

2. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.

4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
