Diagnostic Overview

A No Key Detected Message Is Displayed In The Message Center

Normal Operations and Fault Conditions

During each vehicle start sequence, if the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module does not detect a programmed IA (Intelligent Access) key is inside the vehicle and the backup transceiver does not receive a programmed IA (Intelligent Access) key identification code, the message center displays the message NO KEY DETECTED.

NOTE: Some brands/types of mobile phone or laptop computer chargers may cause interference that could lead to a PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) no-start if the IA (Intelligent Access) key is within close proximity of the charger. If a concern is observed, move the IA (Intelligent Access) key away from the charger and attempt to start the vehicle.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) TRANSMITTER OPERATION

1. Press the lock and unlock RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter buttons on an IA (Intelligent Access) key.

Do the doors lock and unlock?








2. CHECK THE IA (Intelligent Access) KEY LOCATION

1. Place the IA (Intelligent Access) key in several locations within the vehicle and attempt to start the vehicle

Does the vehicle start with the IA (Intelligent Access) key in certain areas only?








3. CHECK FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INTERFERENCE

1. Check for the use of any charger or other wireless device that can cause interference with the IA (Intelligent Access) key. If any device is found, remove the device and attempt to start the engine.

Does the engine start?








4. CHECK THE IA (Intelligent Access) KEY BATTERY

1. Place the IA (Intelligent Access) key in the backup slot and press the start/stop switch.

Is NO KEY DETECTED displayed?








5. CHECK THE IA (Intelligent Access) KEY PROGRAMMING

1. Program the IA (Intelligent Access) keys. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment

Do the IA (Intelligent Access) keys successfully program?
