Diagnostic Overview

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Pinpoint Test

1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

1. Ignition ON.

2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?








2. CHECK FOR LOST COMMUNICATION DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, clear continuous memory DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.

3. Ignition OFF.

4. Wait at least 10 seconds.

5. Ignition ON.

6. Using a scan tool, retrieve the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module).

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U016A:00 set in the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module)?








3. CHECK THE AUDIO SYSTEM MODULES FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE OUT-OF-RANGE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)

1. Using a scan tool, perform the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) and the GPSM (Global Positioning System Module) self-tests.

Are any low or high voltage DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded in the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) or the GPSM (Global Positioning System Module)?








4. RECHECK FOR THE APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)

1. NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the PMI (Programmable Module Installation) or the PMI (Programmable Module Installation) may not have been carried out.

Clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

2. Wait 10 seconds.

3. Repeat the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U016A:00 still present?
