Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems

Diagnostic Routine K

Diagnostic Overview

U0151:00

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

With the ignition ON, the RCM (Restraints Control Module) sends the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module messages over a private HS-CAN (High Speed Controller Area Network). If the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module does not receive these messages within a certain time frame (less than 1 second), the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module sets DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.

Does the RCM (Restraints Control Module) pass the network test?

2. CHECK THE ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) MODULE CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes)

1. Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.

2. Clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

3. Ignition OFF.

4. Ignition ON.

5. Repeat the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.

6. Record the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0151:00 retrieved again?

3. REVIEW THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) MODULE SELF-TEST

1. Check the recorded DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?

4. CHECK FOR DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) IN THE RCM (Restraints Control Module)

1. Using a scan tool, carry out the RCM (Restraints Control Module) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?

5. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0151:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES

1. Using the scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.

2. Retrieve and record the CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0151:00 set in any other module?
