Variable Valve Timing Solenoid: Service and Repair
Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) Oil Control Solenoid - 3.5L Ti-VCT

Removal
1. Remove the LH (Left Hand) or RH (Right Hand) valve cover. REFER to Valve Cover - LH or REFER to Valve Cover - RH .
2. Remove the bolt and the VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing) oil control solenoid.
Installation
1. NOTE: The VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing) oil control solenoid bolt must be tightened in 2 stages.
Install the VCT (Variable Camshaft Timing) oil control solenoid and tighten the bolt in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 20 degrees.
2. Install the LH (Left Hand) or RH (Right Hand) valve cover. REFER to Valve Cover - LH or REFER to Valve Cover - RH .
