Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) sends reference signals to the headlamp switch through circuit CLF18 (BU/WH), circuit CLF19 (VT/GN), circuit CLF23 (WH/VT), and circuit CLS34 (GY). When the headlamp switch is placed in the HEADLAMPS ON position, the voltage signal is routed to ground.

When the SJB detects the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position and the multifunction switch in the LOW BEAM position, the SJB sends voltage through circuit CLF04 (BN/BU) (LH headlamp) and circuit CLF05 (BU/GN) (RH headlamp) to the low beam headlamps.

When the SJB detects the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position and the multifunction switch in the HIGH BEAM position, the SJB sends voltage through circuit CLF02 (GY/BN) (LH headlamp) and circuit CLF03 (VT/OG) (RH headlamp) to the high beam headlamps.

The SJB sends a reference signal to the multifunction switch through circuit CLF27 (GN/BN) and circuit CLF17 (WH/OG). When the multifunction switch is placed in the FLASH-TO-PASS or HIGH BEAM position, the voltage signal is routed to ground. When the SJB detects a request for the flash-to-pass, the SJB sends voltage to the high beam headlamps.

Possible Causes
- Circuit CLF02 (GY/BN) short to voltage
- Circuit CLF03 (VT/OG) short to voltage
- Circuit CLF04 (BN/BU) short to voltage
- Circuit CLF05 (BU/GN) short to voltage
- Circuit CLF17 (WH/OG) short to ground
- Circuit CLF18 (BU/WH) open or short to ground
- Circuit CLF19 (VT/GN) open or short to ground
- Circuit CLF23 (WH/VT) open or short to ground
- Circuit CLF27 (GN/BN) short to ground
- Circuit GD145 (BK/BU) open
- Multifunction switch
- Headlamp switch
- SJB
