Removal and Installation
1. Remove the LH and RH valve covers.
2. Remove the fuel rail.
3. Remove the cooling fan.





4. NOTE: Late build vehicles shown, early build vehicles similar.

Rotate the crankshaft until the camshaft for the cylinder being serviced is at base circle.





5. NOTE: Mark each camshaft roller follower to make sure it is returned to its original position.

Using the special tool, remove the camshaft roller followers.

6. NOTE: If a new roller follower is being installed, install the same type of roller follower that was removed. Engines with an oil supply tube and engines without an oil supply tube use different roller followers.

NOTE: The camshaft roller followers must be installed in their original positions.

NOTE: Lubricate the camshaft roller followers with clean engine oil.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
