Variable Boost Control Solenoid: Service and Repair

TURBOCHARGER VARIABLE VANE HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVE

Removal and Installation

1. CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.







2. Disconnect the turbocharger variable vane hydraulic control valve electrical connector.







3. Remove the bolt, bracket and the turbocharger variable vane hydraulic control valve.

4. CAUTION: Do not use the retaining bolt to draw the valve into the housing or damage to the valve can occur.

NOTE: Inspect the O-ring seals to make sure they are not twisted or distorted.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply clean engine oil to the O-rings prior to installing.
