PINPOINT TEST AB: LFC 46/DTC B1877/B1885 - DRIVER PRETENSIONER CIRCUIT RESISTANCE HIGH OR LOW

Test AB1-AB2:

Test AB3-AB5:

Normal Operation
The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the resistance of the circuit to the driver safety belt buckle pretensioner. When the RCM detects a resistance that is out of the expected range (high or low) it will set Lamp Fault Code (LFC) 46 and diagnostic test (DTC) B1877 or 1885.

Possible Causes
An out of range resistance on the drive safety belt buckle pretensioner circuit can be caused by:
^ an out of range resistance on circuit 1079 (LG/RD).
^ an out of range resistance on circuit 1080 (LG/BK).
^ an out of range resistance on the driver pretensioner.
^ an RCM internal concern.
