Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation





All vehicles
1. Remove the brake pedal push rod cotter pin and washer.





2. Remove the four power brake booster pushrod bracket nuts.





3. Disconnect the brake pedal pushrod.





3.0 L (4V)
4. Disconnect the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve and position it aside.
1 Disconnect the cable locator.
2 Remove the nuts.
3 Position the evaporative emission canister purge valve aside.





All vehicles
5. Disconnect the master cylinder and position aside.
^ Remove the nuts
^ Position the master cylinder aside.





6. Remove the brake booster.
1 Disconnect the vacuum hose.
2 Remove the brake booster.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
