Transfer Case-Automatic Shift

Transfer Case Shift Motor

Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in the NEUTRAL position, raise and support the vehicle.





2. Remove the heat shield.





3. Disconnect the electrical connector.





4. Remove the coil wire from the electrical connector.
1 Remove the connector interlock.
2 Remove the coil wire pin.
Use the proper electrical connector pin remover.





5. Remove the rear output shaft speed sensor.
Carefully remove the sensor from the transfer case.





6. Remove the four bolts and the transfer case shift motor.





7. Remove the front output shaft speed sensor.
Carefully remove the sensor from transfer case.





8. NOTE: Make sure the motor mounting surfaces are clean.

Apply a 3 mm (1/8 inch) bead of sealant to the motor mounting surface on the case.





9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
