Transmission Mount: Service and Repair

Transmission Support Insulator

Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Support the transmission with a transmission jack.





3. Remove the RH heat shield bolts.





4. Remove the RH heat shield bolt and remove the heat shield.





5. Remove the LH heat shield bolt.





6. Remove the plastic fuel pump connector cover from the right side of the frame rail.
7. Remove the plastic shield on the right side of the crossmember near the fuel tank.





8. NOTE: The RH side is shown, LH side similar.

Remove the two upper crossmember bolts (two on each side).





9. Remove the RH side crossmember bolts.





10. Remove the LH side crossmember bolts.





11. Remove the two nuts from the rear transmission support and remove the crossmember.





12. Remove the two bolts and remove the rear transmission support.

Installation





1. Install the rear transmission support and bolts.





2. Position the crossmember in place and loosely install the two nuts to hold up the crossmember.





3. Install the RH side crossmember bolts.





4. Install the LH side crossmember bolts.





5. Install the plastic fuel pump connector cover to the right side of the frame rail.
6. Install the plastic shield on the right side of the crossmember near the fuel tank.





7. NOTE: The RH side is shown, LH side similar.

Install the two upper crossmember bolts (two on each side).





8. Tighten the rear transmission support nuts.





9. Install the RH heat shield and bolt.





10. Install the RH heat shield bolts.





11. Install the LH heat shield bolt.
12. Remove the transmission jack.
13. Lower the vehicle.
