Power Steering Fluid Cooler

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: While servicing the power steering system, make sure to plug all open hoses, line fittings, and fluid ports to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the steering gear-to-cooler hose.
^ Drain the fluid into a suitable container.





3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the cooler-to-reservoir hose.





4. Loosen the bolts and remove the power steering fluid cooler.

5. NOTE: Make sure that the gear-to-cooler hose is connected to the top inlet and the cooler-to-reservoir hose is connected to the bottom outlet of the cooler.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
6. Fill, purge and leak test the system.
