Rear Safety Belt Retractor - Second Row and Third Row, Outboard

Safety Belt Bolt Bit:

REMOVAL

WARNING: ALL SAFETY BELT ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING RETRACTORS, BUCKLES, FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE SUPPORT ASSEMBLIES (SLIDE BAR), SHOULDER BELT HEIGHT ADJUSTERS (IF SO EQUIPPED) CHILD SAFETY SEAT TETHER ATTACHMENTS AND ATTACHING HARDWARE SHOULD BE INSPECTED AFTER ANY COLLISION. ALL BELT ASSEMBLIES SHOULD BE REPLACED UNLESS A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN FINDS THE ASSEMBLIES SHOW NO DAMAGE AND OPERATE PROPERLY. BELT ASSEMBLIES NOT IN USE DURING A COLLISION SHOULD ALSO BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF EITHER DAMAGE OR IMPROPER OPERATION IS NOTED.

NOTE: The left-hand drive driver side is shown, all others are similar.

All safety belt retractors







1. Using the special tool, remove the bolt. Remove the second row safety belt anchor.
2. Remove the rear quarter trim panel.

Third row safety belt retractors







3. Using the special tool, remove the bolt. Remove the third row safety belt anchor.

Vehicles with remote keyless entry (passenger side second row retractor)







4. Remove the bolts. Position the remote keyless entry module to the side.

Second row safety belt retractors







5. Using the special tool, remove the bolt. Remove the second row safety belt guide.







6. Using the special tool, remove the bolt. Remove the second row safety belt retractor.

Third row safety belt retractors







7. Using the special tool, remove the bolt. Remove the third row safety belt guide.







8. Using the special tool, remove the bolt. Remove the third row safety belt retractor.

INSTALLATION

Third row safety belt retractors







1. Before installing the third row safety belt retractor, make sure the anti-rattle pad is on the back of the retractor.







2. Position the third row safety belt retractor aligning the anti-rotation tab through the sheet metal. Using the special tool, install the bolt.







3. Position the third row safety belt guide. Using the special tool, install the bolt.

NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.

Second row safety belt retractors







4. Install the second row safety belt retractor.
1 Position the second row safety belt retractor, aligning the anti-rotation tab through the sheet metal.
2 Using the special tool, install the bolt.







5. Position the second row safety belt guide. Using the special tool, install the bolt.

NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.

Vehicles with remote keyless entry (passenger side second row retractor only)







6. Position the remote keyless entry module. Install the bolts.

Third row safety belt retractors







7. Position the third row safety belt anchor. Using the special tool, install the bolt.

NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.

All safety belt retractors
8. Install the rear quarter trim panel.

NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.







9. Position the second row safety belt anchor. Using the special tool, install the bolt.

NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.

10. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
