REMOVALNOTE:
- The following procedure can be used to remove and install one of, or both, the aft auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet lines. If only one line is to be removed and installed, disconnect only the desired line fittings at the specified points within the procedure.
- Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Remove the nut(s) and disconnect the peanut fitting(s).
- Discard the O-ring seal(s).
NOTE: If only one auxiliary A/C line is to be removed, disconnect only the fitting for the desired line.
4. Remove the spare tire carrier.
5. Remove the nut(s) and disconnect the peanut fitting(s).
- Discard the O-ring seal(s).
NOTE: If only one auxiliary A/C line is to be removed, disconnect only the fitting for the desired line.
6. Remove the nut and remove the bracket.
7. Remove the nut and remove the bracket.
8. Remove the desired line(s).
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-rings lubricated in PAG oil or equivalent.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil or equivalent.
2. Evacuate leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
