With Auxiliary Climate Control
REMOVALNOTE:
- If a condenser core leak is suspected, the condenser core must be leak-tested before it is removed from the vehicle.
- Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the air cleaner housing.
3. Remove the upper radiator sight shield.
4. Remove the nut and disconnect the compressor manifold and tube assembly from the condenser core.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
5. Disconnect the front auxiliary outlet line spring lock coupling from the underbody auxiliary outlet line.
- Discard the O-ring seals.
6. Remove the bolt.
7. Remove the radiator grille.
8. Remove the three pin type retainers.
9. Position forward the radiator air deflector.
10. Remove the nut and position aside the suction accumulator.
11. Remove the nut and disconnect the condenser to evaporator line from the condenser core.
12. Remove the top radiator air deflector.
13. Remove the RH and LH radiator brackets.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the brackets.
NOTE: RH radiator bracket is shown, LH similar.
14. Remove the RH and LH condenser core brackets.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the brackets.
15. Position the air deflectors to clear the brackets and remove the condenser core.
16. Detach the air deflectors from the condenser core.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- If a new condenser core is to be installed, lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil or equivalent.
- Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean PAG oil or equivalent.
2. Evacuate, leak test, and charge the refrigerant system.
