Removal and Installation

CAUTION: If the supply manifold is used as a leverage device, damage may occur to the supply manifold. Care must be taken when working around the fuel supply manifold.

1. Remove the intake manifold.





2. Remove the coolant tube bracket bolts.





3. Disconnect the spark plug wire standoff clips and position the spark plug wires aside.





4. Disconnect the differential pressure feedback Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system electrical connector.





5. Remove the EGR tube.
6. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
7. Disconnect the fuel line spring coupling.





8. Remove the retaining bolt.





9. Remove the fuel supply tube from the fuel injection supply manifold.





10. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors and routing clips.





11. Remove the bolts and the valve cover.





12. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges, which make leak paths.

Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces. Install a new gasket, if necessary.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
