Removal and Installation

CAUTION: If the supply manifold is used as a leverage device, damage may occur to the supply manifold. Care must be taken when working around the fuel supply manifold.

1. Remove the intake manifold.





2. Disconnect the following:
- Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
- Ignition coil electrical connector.
- Pin-type retainer.





3. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors and the harness standoff clips.





4. Disconnect the accelerator cable routing clip.





5. Disconnect the spark plug wire standoff clips and position aside.





6. Remove the six bolts and the valve cover.





7. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges, which make leak paths.

Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces. Install a new gasket, if necessary.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
