Parking Brake Cable - RearRemoval and Installation
1. NOTE: Verify that the parking brake control is fully released.
Relieve the tension on the parking brake system.
1. Pull the front parking brake cable and conduit.
2. Insert a 4 mm (5/32-inch) drill bit or equivalent retainer.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the RH and LH rear parking brake cable and conduit from the parking brake cable equalizer.
4. Remove the RH and LH rear parking brake cable and conduit from the frame bracket.
1. Compress the parking brake cable clip and remove the LH parking brake rear cable and conduit.
2. Compress the parking brake cable clip and remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit.
5. Remove muffler exhaust heat shield.
1. Remove the nuts.
2. Remove the bolts.
6. Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit bracket screw from the center support bracket.
7. Rotate the rear parking brake cable out of the parking brake cable and conduit retaining clip.
8. Release the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.
9. Unclip the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake lever, then remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
