Hood Latch: Service and Repair

HOOD LATCH

Removal







1. Position the hood latch aside.
1. Mark the hood latch position.
2. Remove the bolts.







2. Remove the hood latch.
1. Release the cable conduit.
2. Disconnect the cable.
3. Remove the hood latch.

Installation







1. Connect the hood latch release cable and conduit.
1. Connect the cable.
2. Engage the cable conduit.







2. Position the hood latch with the alignment marks and install the bolts.







3. Adjust the hood latch as necessary to provide correct hood fit.
1. Loosen the bolts.
2. Adjust the hood latch.







4. Tighten the bolts.
5. Verify the hood latch operation.
1. Verify the hood latch engages the striker in the latched position (secondary).
2. Verify the hood latch engages the striker in the fully latched position (primary).
- Repeat the steps for adjusting the hood latch as necessary.
