Non-Axle Noise

There are some noise conditions that can sound like axle noise and have to be considered while performing road test diagnosis. The five most common are noise from the transmission, exhaust system, tires, roof racks and trim mouldings.

Make sure that none of these non-axle noise conditions is the cause of the noise concern before proceeding with an axle teardown and diagnosis.
