A/C Pressure Cutoff Switch

A/C Pressure Cut-Off Switch:

An A/C pressure cut-off switch is located in the compressor discharge line of the A/C manifold and tube. The switch protects the A/C system during excessive high-pressure conditions by interrupting the electrical service to the A/C clutch field coil during excessive pressure conditions. The electrical service is interrupted prior to the A/C compressor pressure relief valve venting refrigerant. When the excessive high-pressure has dropped, the A/C pressure cut-off switch resets and permits the A/C compressor to operate.
