Fuel/Water Separator: Service and Repair

1. Perform the fuel line venting procedure (Fuel Pressure Release). Please refer to Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair/ Service and Repair
2. Place a container under the coalescer/filter assembly.







3. Slowly loosen the coalescer/filter assembly drain plug, to vent the system of any residual fuel pressure.

NOTE: Hold the coalescer body with a wrench on the flats, to prevent loosening of the filter housing.

4. Remove the coalescer/filter assembly drain plug and allow all liquid to drain.







5. Install the coalescer/filter assembly drain plug and tighten to specifications.
6. Perform the fuel system leak test procedure. Please refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Testing and Inspection/
