Cleaning

1. With the introduction of a new radiator braze process, there is no longer an approved service method for repairing radiator core leaks. If the radiator core leaks, replace the radiator.

NOTE: Plug the transmission cooler line fittings during cleaning.

EXTERNAL
1. Clean the outside of the aluminum core with a soft brush, warm water and a mild household liquid detergent. Rinse with clear water.

CAUTION: Do not use a metal brush to clean an aluminum core. Use only horsehair, bristle or nylon brushes. Failure to do so can cause damage to the radiator core.

INTERNAL
1. Rinse the core with clean water.

CAUTION: Do not use caustic cleaning solutions or copper/brass radiator cleaning agents on aluminum radiators. Internal cleaning must be accomplished with sonic cleaning equipment.
