Stoplight Switch

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. On vehicles equipped with dual batteries, use proper disconnect procedures. Dual Battery Disconnect





2. Disconnect the stoplight switch electrical connector.





3. Remove the stoplight switch.
1 Remove the self-locking pin.
2 Remove the (A) stoplight switch from the (B) brake master cylinder push rod.
3 Remove the brake master cylinder push rod spacers.
4 Remove the brake master cylinder push rod bushing.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE:
- On vehicles equipped with dual batteries, use proper reconnect procedures. Dual Battery Disconnect
- When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
