Electronic Search Radio
NOTE: The following removal and installation procedures apply to all original equipment radio chassis.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Insert the Radio Removal Tool into the face of the radio chassis. Gently pull outward on the tool while removing the (A) radio chassis from the (B) instrument panel. Remove the Radio Removal Tool.
3. Disconnect the following:
- radio antenna lead in cable
- radio wiring hardshell connector
- rear seat control wiring hardshell connector, if so equipped
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
