Removal

1. Disconnect battery.
2. Raise vehicle on hoist. Drain engine oil.
3. Disconnect sway bar and place it to the rear of the vehicle to gain access to the oil pan.
4. Remove the transmission supports brackets and inspection cover.
5. Remove oil pan and oil pump pick-up.
6. Remove drive belt.
7. Remove power steering pump and set aside.





8. Remove fan module.
9. Use special tool C-3281, or equivalent to hold crankshaft damper while removing center bolt.





10. Remove crankshaft damper see illustration.
11. Remove tensioner pulley bracket.





12. Remove cam sensor from chain case cover.
13. Remove chain case cover.
