Test 7A - Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Continuity Fault

Test 7A: Repairing LF Sensor Continuity (Part 2 Of 2):
NAME OF CODE:
LF Sensor Continuity > 25 mph
When Monitored:
When driving above 25 mph.
Set Condition:
The Controller Antilock Brakes CAB monitors the wheel speed signals at all times. If the CAB detects an erratic or otherwise improper signal while vehicle speed is greater than 25 mph, the trouble code will set.
Possible Causes:
^ Damaged tone wheel
^ Sensor head not properly mounted
^ Failed wheel speed sensor
^ Excessive vibration over rough road surfaces
^ Sensor air gap too small or large
^ Improper grounding of the CAB or sensor
^ Intermittent open or shorted WSS circuits
^ Failed CAB
^ Interference from RFI/EMI

When Monitored:
When driving below 25 mph.
Set Condition:
The CAB monitors the wheel speed signals at all times. If the CAB detects an erratic or otherwise improper signal while vehicle speed is less than 25 mph, the trouble code will set.

^ Sensor head not properly mounted
^ Failed wheel speed sensor

^ Improper grounding of the CAB or sensor

^ Interference from RFI/EMI

NOTE: When disconnecting or connecting connectors, always check for terminal damage, pushed out pins or miswired.
