REMOVAL

Remove fuel pump in numbered sequence, Fig.108.





1. Relieve fuel system pressure as follows:
a. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector at fuel tank.
b. Start engine and let it run until it stalls, then turn ignition switch to off.
c. Disconnect battery ground cable.
d. Reconnect fuel pump harness connector.
2. Remove fuel from fuel tank into a suitable container.
3. When disconnecting high pressure fuel line, cover fuel line connection with rags to prevent spraying of fuel.
4. Remove rear seat cushion and floor plate for access to fuel pump.
5. Disconnect hoses and connectors to remove fuel pump.

INSTALLATION

Reverse removal procedure to install, noting the following:
1. Align packing position projections with holes in fuel pump assembly.
2. Ensure fuel pump assembly and hoses are not leaking.
3. Before installing hole cover plate, apply suitable sealant to rear floor pan.
