THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 08-07-95, DATED MAR. 3, 1995, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES AND NOTED IN THE 1995 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN MANUAL (PUBLICATION NO. 81-699-96084). THIS IS A COMPLETE REVISION AND NO ASTERISKS HAVE BEEN USED TO HIGHLIGHT REVISIONS.

NOTE:
THIS INFORMATION APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.0L TURBO CHARGED ENGINE.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where the washer nozzles leak washer fluid onto the hood when they are not in use.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle exhibits this condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
1 MB083730 Joint
2 MR388278 Check Valve
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves removing the check valve in the right sill area and installing two new valves below the existing valves below the washer outlets.
1. Remove the check valves located in the right sill area and install joint p/n MB083730. Discard the check valves.
2. Locate the two hoses leading to the washer nozzles (Figure 1).
3. Cut each hose 25 mm (1 in) below the existing check valves near the hood nozzle (Figure 1).
4. Install one check valve p/n MR388278 into each hose (Figure 1).
NOTE:
MAKE SURE THE CHECK VALVES ARE POSITIONED WITH THE ARROWS FACING FLUID FLOW.
