Repair Procedure

1. With glass in the down position remove the door trim panel (6 screws).

2. Remove the speaker assembly to provide access to the guide track (4 screws).

3. Remove the delta sash and mirror assembly (3 bolts), let the sash assembly hang.

4. Remove the inner beltline weatherstrip by pulling it up from the inner door edge flange.

5. Remove the outer beltline molding (2 screws) pull up from outer door edge flange.

6. Gut II pieces of 3M Silencer Strip, p/n 08585 or equivalent, to approximately 75 mm x 50 mm (3 x 2 inches).





7. Place 6 pieces of silencer strip (length wise) over the down stepped sections of the outer door edge flange (Figure 1).

8. Place 5 pieces of silencer strip (length wise) over the down stepped sections of the inner door edge flange (Figure 1).





9. Apply 3M Double Sided Tape, p/n 06382 or equivalent, on the inner beltline weatherstrip the entire length where the molding contacts the door trim (Figure 2).

10. Remove the two inner stabilizer brackets.

NOTE:
MAKE SURE THE ADJUSTMENT SCREWS FOR THE STABILIZER BRACKETS DO NOT MOVE.

11. Remove the two door glass up stops.

NOTE:
MARKING THE POSITION BEFORE REMOVING WILL HELP PREVENT MISADJUSTMENT OF THE GLASS UPON REINSTALLATION.

12. Peel back the water shield to gain access to the glass screws.

13. Remove the two bolts holding the glass to the window regulator and lift out the glass.





14. Replace the glass guide on the front of the glass with a new glass guide, p/n MB321765 LH/MB321766 RH (Figure 3).

15. Apply multi-purpose grease, p/n 4318063, to the front guide track where the plastic glass guide clip contacts the guide track.

16. Install the glass to the window regulator.

17. Reposition the water shield.

18. Install speaker assembly, stabilizers, up stops, beltline molding, inner weather strip and the delta sash assembly.

19. Confirm the glass setting, and adjust as necessary.

20. Install door trim panel and confirm that the rattle has been eliminated.
