Adjustment Procedures

Always make adjustments in small increments. After making adjustments, roll the glass fully down and up with the door closed. Always remeasure to verify glass position and proper specifications.

PRELIMINARY STEPS

1. First check the door to body alignment. With the glass in the full down position, check the door latch to door striker alignment. If necessary adjust the door striker.
2. Remove the door panel. Remove the window switch assembly (power window) from the door panel and reconnect it so you can operate the door glass.

PARALLELISM ADJUSTMENT

1. Loosen the pivot and slotted adjustment screws for the equalizer arm bracket (Figure 5).
2. Rotate the glass slightly to make adjustments as necessary.
3. Re-tighten screws and check the measurements against the specifications.

FORE AND AFT ADJUSTMENT

1. Lower the glass completely.

2. Loosen both nuts of the glass guide rear track (Figure 6).
3. Move the glass forward or rearward as necessary.
4. Re-tighten nuts and check the measurements against the specifications.

NOTE: MOVING THE GLASS FORE OR AFT CAN CHANGE THE TILT MEASUREMENT.

HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

To Lower Glass (Figure 7)

1. Lower the window approximately one inch.
2. Loosen one up-stop bolt.
3. Adjust the up-stop downwards.
4. Tighten the up-stop bolt.
5. Repeat the above procedure for the other up-stop as necessary.
6. Lower the glass completely down and then up with the door closed. Check the measurement against the specifications.

To Raise Glass (Figure 7)

1. With the glass in the full up position loosen one up-stop bolt.
2. Allow the tension of the window regulator to push the glass upwards.
3. Tighten the up-stop bolt.
4. Repeat the above procedure for the other up-stop as necessary.
5. Lower the glass completely down and then up with the door closed. Check the measurement against the specifications.

NOTE: CHANGES TO THE GLASS HEIGHT CAN HAVE AN EFFECT ON THE PARALLELISM MEASUREMENT.

TILT ADJUSTMENT

1. Loosen one glass guide rear track nut (Figure 8).

NOTE: ONLY ADJUST ONE AT A TIME. IF BOTH NUTS ARE LOOSENED AT THE SAME TIME, THE FORE & AFT MEASUREMENT CAN BE LOST.

2. Turn the inner adjusting bolt as required to adjust the glass tilt (Figure 8). (Clockwise pushes the upper corner outward/Counter clockwise pulls the upper corner inward.)
3. Tighten the nut while holding the bolt.
4. Repeat the procedure for the other adjusting bolt. Turn it the same number of turns as the first bolt.
5. Lower the glass completely down and then up. Check the measurement against the specifications.

Final Adjustments

1. With the glass completely up and the door closed, run your finger along the edge of the window drip molding. If you can feel the top edge of the glass, adjust glass position upwards with the up-stops as necessary. After adjustment, roll the window completely down and then up with the door closed. Recheck measurements.

2. Check the top corner of the delta trim (Figure 9). A 1 - 1.5 mm (.039 - .059 in) step should be measured where the corner contacts the glass. The delta trim corner stretches when pushed down over the glass edge.

3. If necessary, adjust the delta trim as follows:

A. Loosen the three delta trim screws (Figure 10).
B. Rotate the delta trim until a 1 - 1.5 mm (.039 - .059 in) step can be measured where the trim corner contacts the glass. Push the delta trim corner downwards (stretch corner) until the measurement is achieved.
C. Tighten the delta trim screws.
D. To prevent window noise, be sure the lower delta weather strip is properly positioned.
4. Make sure the door mirror seal (inside the door) is properly positioned to prevent wind and water leakage. The seal should fit snugly around the trim.
5. Reinstall the door trim and window switch.
