Clutch Assembly Replacement

Fig. 7 Clutch Assembly Replacement:





Replace clutch in numbered sequence, noting the following:
1. Remove transaxle. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain/Manual Transmission/Service and Repair/Transaxle Replacement.
2. Diagonally loosen clutch cover bolts in two or three steps.
3. Support clutch cover and remove cover bolts, lowering clutch and clutch cover.

4. Slide release fork in direction of arrow as shown, and disengage fulcrum from clip to release fork.

CAUTION:
Do not push the release fork in direction other than arrow or remove with force as clip may be damaged.

5. Reverse procedure to install. Use special clutch positioning tool No. MD998126, or equivalent, to install clutch disc on flywheel.
